I have known John for years. He is the best in the business. I have had countless times where John has gotten me in on the drop of a dime, and has fixed the issue the right way the first time. His prices have also always been below the competition and I recommend all my friends and family to his shop every time.

We needed our 1989 Ford motorhome to make it another 1500 miles to get us back home again in Indiana; but she was leaking power steering fluid something fierce. I fully expected it to be the pump but John said "it's your lucky day" - was just a ruptured return hose. I actually called a few min before they opened and John answered and met me at the shop. After a couple short minutes under the front end, he made the diagnosis - nobody had the specific Ford hose, so John masterfully made a standard hose work. And in just a little over an hour total, John had my family and I headed back to the Hoosier state - about 3-6 hours quicker than I thought and about 300-500 dollars less than I feared. John is honest, genuine, and like someone else already said, made it feel like a friend was helping me out rather than a complete stranger. Thank you John and Honest Automotive. We are from Missouri, driving a Class A motorhome. Ran out of transmissions fluid and John came to where we were and put fluid in the RV. He was on his on time and could have gone home but, came and helped us. He even called a repair shop for us!! Thank you so much you are a truly great person!!

We were on vacation in the Black Hills and arrived in Rapid City at the end of two solid days of driving with an unsettling noise coming from our engine/wheel area. We called the dealership for our vehicle, and multiple other garages and none had openings for a week. We were far from home, stranded, and ripe to be taken advantage of. John got us in, identified the problem and what would be necessary to repair it. He was fair and friendly, the cost was reasonable, and above all he was honest with us (as the name implies). My wife and I came to Rapid City for vacation. Our old Chevy would not hold its serpentine belt due to a damage power steering pump bracket. John searched for parts for our old truck with no avail. John was easy to talk to and explained things clearly. I've dealt with other mechanics that have spoken to me in a demeaning and belittling manner and John was definitely NOT like that. He was flexible with ordering parts and got the repair done quickly. I've had my vehicle back only one day so hopefully, mechanically, the repair was done well and holds up. He installed a used transmission in a PT Cruiser and so far so good. My other vehicle, Chevy Traverse, is in a different shop for four weeks now...I wish I had taken it over to Honest Automotive instead.

The only mechanic I trust with my car....he fixed my car a few months ago and not even so much as a squeak to it. :)

Had my brakes relined.They told me when to bring it in and when i could pick it up and the van was ready to go when they said it would be done.They did not try to do a bunch of add on work. Easy to deal with.

They me informed me of the result immediately after checking the computer codes (misfire of all 6 cylinders ). They told me the possible causes and suggested the least expensive solution (replace spark plugs). They continued to test and ensure all problems (1 malfunctioning ignition coil) were identified and fixed in the most economical manner. They called and informed me of the status each step of the way. They told me to bring it back if the check engine light came back on. I felt involved during the whole process.

I took my business vehicle into Honest Automotive to have them check the air conditioning. They priced several compressors for me and told me the features and quality of each and worked to find something that fit my budget. They did excellent workmanship.

I came into the shop because my check engine light had come on. They diagnosed that problem as some kind of sensor that wasn't critical to my car running well but while they were looking at it, they discovered that the water pump was leaking. This was a problem that could have caused a breakdown on the road. Because I was scheduled to leave town for a trip in two days, they worked to get it in right away and fixed both the water pump and the sensor.
